Arkansas-born. Ole Miss Fine Art. Forty years in design, retail, and glass — and one ornament a year to carry it all forward.
Born and raised along the Mississippi River near Memphis, John grew up with a keen eye for craft and design. He studied Fine Art at The University of Mississippi, where a lifelong creative discipline took root.
In the early 1980s, John founded Confetti Graphics — a handmade stationery and greeting card company that put his design instincts to commercial use for the first time.
He relocated to LA and spent years spanning advertising, commercial and residential interior design, and fine art — building a multi-disciplinary practice across both coasts.
A cousin purchased The Christmas Store in Fredericksburg, Texas. John and his twin brother joined as chief designers, eventually becoming Chief Buyers and Managers. Over 30 years, John curated one of the nation's largest retail collections of fine European glass ornaments.
After more than 30 successful years, The Christmas Store closed. John now continues its cherished tradition through an annual commemorative blown-glass ornament, handcrafted in Poland by the Huras Family — celebrating history, artistry, and the craft that defined his career.
